Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring anything with me to Larchmont Sanctuary Spa?
Luxury towels, robes, slippers and a variety of toiletries are provided. You should bring any special toiletries you may need. Lockers are available for your personal items in the women and men’s changing rooms. Please remember to remove all jewelry prior to your treatments.
How early should I get to the spa?
We suggest you arrive a minimum of 15-20 minutes prior to your reservation time to check-in, complete paperwork, change into your robe, and enjoy a cup of tea in our Relaxation Room. If you’d like to shower or take a sauna before your treatment, please give yourself additional time.
What if I'm late?
We will do our best to give you the full time for your reservation but please understand that there is usually another client with their own reservation immediately after yours. This means that your treatment will still need to finish on time to respect those following you.
What if I'm feeling a little sick?
Out of an abundance of caution we reserve the right to turn away anyone that might be contagious or have any medical condition that would be aggravated by receiving a treatment. There is no cancellation penalty if this happens.
Where can I park?
We have 4 dedicated spaces for our clients immediately in front of our spa. There is metered parking on Larchmont Blvd and the parking structure next door during weekday business hours. Be aware that the Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays and Sundays will bring in extra visitors to our neighborhood and street parking gets more difficult, so plan ahead.
Can I choose a male or female therapist?
Of course. If you have a preference please let the concierge know when you make the reservation.
Can I bring my child?
Unfortunately no, we can’t provide supervised child care and they can’t join you in the treatment room.
I'm pregnant, can I get a treatment?
Many women benefit from spa treatments during their pregnancy but your OB/GYN will determine which treatments are safe for you. For women beyond the first 12 weeks we offer massages and facials specifically designed to help with the aches and pains of pregnancy.
Are swimsuits required?
Swimsuits are not required if you plan to use the sauna or jacuzzi but you can certainly wear one if it will make you feel more comfortable. We limit sauna use to either female or male use for our guests. You can also request to reserve the sauna ahead of time if you would like to sweat together.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your appointment time has been reserved especially for you and we will be turning away other clients, so please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice or “no-shows” will result in a full charge of the service fee. Cancellation of changes for couples or multiple treatments requires 48 hours notice. All reservations require a credit card deposit.
Advanced Skin Treatment FAQ’s
Is there a minimum age to receive a facial?
Yes, you must be at least 14 years old. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What to expect after the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment your skin glows, looks plumped up and the wrinkles appear softer. Your skin feels moist and looks clear and refreshed.
How long will the treatment last?
Although you will see an improvement in your skin with one treatment, for optimum results a course of at least six weekly Environ Advanced Facials is recommended. Maintain results with a single treatment every 4-6 weeks.
Does the treatment hurt?
No, it’s relaxing and enjoyable! Some people describe it as having ‘a tingly sensation’.
Is it safe?
Yes! A special treatment mask is put over your face and probes are connected to the machine. Electrical current flows through this mask to facilitate 4000 times greater penetration of vitamins and anti-oxidants into your skin.
How quickly does it work?
The penetration of these substances is immediate and the cumulative effect with repeated treatments makes it probably the most effective treatment in the world today for infusing vitamins into the skin.
I'm a guy, can I get a facial?
Yes you can and frankly you probably really need it! A quality facial isn’t just about appearance, it will also help skin that’s been damaged by too much sun or acne scars. It’s never too late to start to repair years of neglect.
What are some do’s and don’ts I should know before getting waxing treatments?
Do: Exfoliate in between waxing to reduce the chance of ingrown hairs.
Do: Use sun protection when exposing your skin to the sun. It is especially important during the first 24 hours after waxing in order to avoid redness.
Do: Let your Esthetician know before your appointment if you have any allergies, health conditions, or are taking any medication, like Accutane, or if you are using any topical lotions or creams like AHAs or Retin-A, which are not compatible with waxing.
Don’t: Drink alcohol or other stimulants such as caffeine prior to waxing because stimulants tighten the pores.
Don’t: Shave before making a waxing appointment. The Esthetician needs some hair growth for the wax to adhere.
